Peter Lewis took up wood turning in 1998 just prior to retirement from business. Apart from five hours instruction at the very beginning, he is self taught, and spends many happy hours in his workshop in Rhiwbina attempting to enhance the natural beauty of (mainly Welsh) wood with simple curves and high finishes.
He has had many commissions for memorial bowls and celebratory gifts, and exhibits in museums, art galleries and craft shops.
Before retirement, Peter was an RAF fighter pilot and flying instructor, a business manager, and finally a management consultant specialising in bespoke computer programmes for small businesses.
